so you do read the blog! (secretly) good! :)
thanks for the voicemail, it was very sweet of you. i will call you when it's not 5 in the morning :P haha
but yeah, all of you guys, thanks for the support, i really do appreciate it. even though i feel like i'm the least desirable person in co-op (i am serious!), i'm surprisingly not really stressed out about it. i have a really good network of friends and... i just know things will turn out really well. just, in general. besides, there's no point in me stressing out about it... i'm just going to try to apply for more jobs and do some more of my own job search (my co-ordinator warned us it might be a bit harder because of the recession...). i keep feeling like there's something wrong with my cover letters and/or resume but i went to see my co-ordinator last week and he said my cover letters are some of the better ones... so yeah. it kind of bothers/confuses me, y'know? at least if i knew why i'm not getting more interviews i could try to fix it, if possible. don't know. but yeah, i seriously should write things now...
aaron, were you at bcit today? i SWEAR TO GOD i saw you!!! orange shoes and your navy... button up shirt thingy..! and i was like "AARON!!!" but the person kept on walking (he wasn't that close to me anyways...)

happy (?) hallowe'en!
hey guys
can you believe it's almost november??? craaaazy!
i think this sunday is daylight savings! yay!
sooooo yeah. thanks for the thoughts, guys. the interview was okay. as in, not great but not bad either. i would even say almost good. but not really. i don't think i'm getting the job... my major is not really related to it. i don't know why they asked me for an interview (i'm surprised i even applied!). oh well, we'll see.
it's kind of sad how undesirable i am for co-op jobs :( (i'm not actually that sad... kind of disappointed, but that's about it) i'm supposed to apply for a couple more for friday morning (due at 9am). that's why i'm still awake (it's 5:18am according to my comp clock).
don't ask what i've been doing for this long; it's just stupid and not worth talking about.
ann, if you read this in time, i told aaron to meet me at the sub at 430pm (or earlier if you want... and i can meet somewhere else if you're not familiar with the sub -- just call me).
i don't want to say too much right now since i'll probably be seeing you all soon and i should be writing cover letters (geez i hope my writing doesn't suck too much when i'm tired)...
be safe tonight!!!

good luck chels, you will bedazzle them I'm sure :)
speaking of hanging on Saturday, lets hang on Sunday.. not that i have any concrete plans on either days but I'd rather have Saturday to study just to see how much i get done. i still have no costume and it's the day before Halloween!! i don't want to resort to last minute lameness like last year. although last year i had actually planned it for quite a while, which is the sad part..
btw i got out of working on fri, and i didn't have to resort to lying to my manager. i just told him i had halloween plans and that i would not come in and basically he didn't have a choice but to put me on another day. so the lesson here is threats work better than lying :)

CONGRATULATIONS CHELSEA!
I wish you many, many good lucks!!!
As for the Cetaphil, thanks for offering but i don't like the cleanser. I still have a bottle that i don't use often. The London Drugs moisturizer had the same labeling as Cetaphil, that is, Non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested, NON-IRRITANT!!! LIES I TELL YOU!
Anyways, I agree with Chels, we should try to make if for Sat because i want Sunday to study.
So are you guys doing Trick or Eat together? We still need people if you're interested in joining my group. Right now we have 4 people including myself. Jon, Andrew (chels you met him at easter seal-the guy who plotted with jon), and cindy which is jon's friend. IF you do intend to join my group, go to the meal exchange website and when you register, join the team "Smiling Over Sickness".
I'm making my costume later today...FUN FUN!
Miss you guys,
Lily

The Good News
hey guys! so i have some semi-interesting news: i have an interview with BCIT tomorrow!
sorry i didn't tell you guys earlier... co-op things happen quite quickly so i just found out the night before yesterday (i think that was it...) and i had an oral presentation/paper due today, a meeting for nutrikids (i'm doing it again this year) from 6 to 8 pm last night, and job applications due the morning before so i didn't even have a chance to even think about anything until now.
i can meet saturday up until about 4pm (i'm going to visit faith at 5pm). sunday is okay but not my first choice (would like to take the day to study but if that's the day that works, then alright).
aaron: I. WOULD. LOOOOOOVE. to work at urban planet!!! (i would actually love to work anywhere... except maybe a grocery store. just because i've already done that, not because i hate it or anything)
lily: that's good. maybe that cleanser wasn't as non-allergenic as normal cetaphil? at costco they sell cetaphil (if you want it -- i don't know if you just have another cleanser that you're using at home right now) for like... $18? $20? it's a huge bottle though (1L i believe!!!). i have it in my bathroom :) i can ask my mom to buy you one if you want (again, just throwing that out there if you want it).
hmm... i'm sooooo incredibly tired. in a deteriorating-little-by-little way. not a i-just-didn't-sleep-at-all way. the latter usually doesn't bother me too much anyways. it's just that this week has been kind of hectic (just school and stuff) and yeah. i don't know. if you guys want to hear about The Exciting Week of Chels, you can just ask me about it when i see you and i'll give you the full update :P
so yeah, got to write some cover letters and prep for my interview now!
wish me luck guys!!!

Hey you guys,
The dr said that it was a combination of an allergic rxn and acne
my skin is better after i stopped using the london drugs brand cetaphil.
Anyways, if everyone is going to meet on sat or sun, then i'm up for it because i haven't seen you guys in a while. I probably won't stay that long because i have 2 assignments due and a midterm ALL on wednesday.
Anyways,
update you later.

Halloween wishes
That's okay that you didn't come, Ann, since no one really did. I went out for a bit... what I did I do again? I can't even remember... so I guess how about this Saturday or something? I'll be teaching piano sometime in the afternoon (I say sometime because my student sort of just phones and shows up whenever, which is kind of annoying), but it'll only be for half an hour so you guys can hide in my room like escaped convicts. Or we could maybe plan it for Sunday, but I'll be out filming some stuff from noon, for about two hours, probably less. Oh. Maybe Sunday's better? Which days work best for you guys?
Ann: It better some pretty darn good underwear you got! Also, do you have an actual costume ready? (unlike last year)
Lily: Has your weird skin condition thingy gone away yet? What did the doctor say?
Chels: How's your costume coming along? Hopefully you didn't screw up sewing... I think Urban Planet (the one on Granville) is hiring, haha.
Joanne: Whatcha doing for Halloween?
Hope everyone's well. I'm excited for Halloween, actually. Hurrah.

hi :)
apparently aaron had big things planned for last sunday, all of which i just found out today..but in hindsight i couldn't have gone anyway because i went down to the states on sunday. people keep saying how great it is to shop in the states but really there's just different stores like instead of winners, you have ross (and such and such) i ended up just getting some underwear. and twelve cans of double strength rockstars for min (aka. sleeps with ipod, for aaron)
i realize i haven't been posting on the blog too much (or at all..) but i think you guys are pretty much updated in my life. but just for kicks i will summarize what is happening in my life right now in nice little points:
i finished all my exams last thursday, i can't say i'm totally happy with all the results, but the good thing about business is that the finals are always worth a good half of the course so i can redeem myself there.
in terms of love life, i would say mine is going fairly nicely. oliver is finally getting his own place, (that is no longer living with a roommate) which is a big deal for me cause they used to have rules about girlfriends coming over and now i can show up unannounced anytime i want, he he.
and lastly i stupidly okayed owen (my manager) for working this friday (halloween!) and realized that i have things to do with you guys. so now i have to get out of it, but i will, even if it means faking my own death (although that might be less believable on halloween..)
we should do things together this weekend. this time i will not be out of the loop, i will be partying in it.

hey guys
i don't know if i am free tomorrow... i met with my group (for my presentation and paper that is due on wednesday) and we're planning on meeting again tomorrow evening to go over our presentation, and i need to "finish" our paper. we went over basically what we needed to say but long story short, we didn't get through everything so i need to do some research and put in the finishing touches (ie, edit). i didn't do that today because there was a warehouse sale dan and his mom and his mom's friend and i went to... and it was way crazier than i thought it would be. let's just leave it at that. i don't want to think about it anymore :P (wasn't that bad but still...)
lily, i hope you're okay! sounds like some sort of rash-type thing. maybe something you're body is intolerant of something you're eating/using. of course, you're seeing the doctor so i'm sure he has better advice than me, but just as a side story that may or may not be of use to you, i started getting this random rash thing on my arm and it was itchy and my mom told me that jeffrey and her got that too (i asked her what to do) when they ate egg whites. then i found out in class (coincidence... unless it was fate..!) that people are commonly intolerant of egg whites.
so yeah, maybe if you're using some sort of new cleaner around the house or makeup with fragrance or eating something a lot now, it could be that. not that that is very specific/necessarily helpful, but i just thought i should mention it and maybe something might stand out in your mind (like, oh yeah! i have been using a new moisturizer) and it may be of use to you. maybe not. hope you get better! (for the record, i stopped eating eggs and put some cortisone cream on my arm at night and it's almost gone)
actually, i was just looking at my agenda and i realized that i also have like, 3 job postings due on monday that i wanted to apply for (due monday morning)!!! i also have to send my co-ordinator something by tuesday! ...so i am coming to the conclusion that i will not be available tomorrow...
next saturday works for me, as long as nothing unexpected comes up! though, as lily said, it would be nice if we had things planned a bit ahead of time. i have to start studying for my finals, etc after my paper/presentation are due... and i also have another paper/presentation that has not had it's due date announced (and i still have weekly assignments for 2 classes) so i need to be pretty organized right now (though today was somewhat of a failure).
talk to you guys soon, i hope!

hey aaron and everyone else
i won't be available this sunday. I have to see Helen (we changed it to sunday and not friday) and i have to go for supper with jon's friends. I'm sorry. What are you guys doing?
I wish you would plan it earlier like a week earlier.
Anyways the candy corn thing i don't have time to sew it because i'm swamped with hw and others.
My skin has been really bad lately and i actually mean bad. I have these small red bumps all along the bridge of my nose beside my eyes and on my eyelids. I don't think it's acne but i'll find out soon enough. I have a dr appt at 3:30.
Anyways i do miss you guys. Why don't we plan something for this coming sat?

My heart will go on... and then off when it dies
Okay, so I hope you guys are free on Sunday for some super fun times! Chels apparently doesn't know about Sunday, I don't know if Ann is working or not (1 out of 7 chance she is), Lily and Joanne I haven't talked to in a while. But if you can make it out, that would be coolness. The party starts at... whenever you can drop by, basically. I'm going to tentatively say 1:00pm, as it is Ann's favourite time to come over and be Team #1, but like I said, anytime is good. If people can't come on Sunday, I guess we can plan it another day.
How's everyone? Everyone excited for Halloween? Oh, and how are the costumes coming along? Lily, I heard you're not being a candy corn anymore. Why? What happened???? Btw, I'm not being the Mad Hatter anymore, as I came up with another costume that I'm actually looking forward to buying. Gotta go downtown tomorrow and look for the last few bits.
Hope to see you guys soon!

No, my mom's not going to sell because she's silly!!! She'd rather waster her time selling crap for a few dollars than spend time getting a relator and getting a few thousand.
Anyways the celine concert was AMAZING!!! Joanne and I originally had seats section 322, row 15...which is the furthest section and furthest seats in that section but one of our friends got us floor seats row 3. It was sooo good. She sang "my heart will go on" as the closing song!

oh yeah
aaron, i need you to help me with something for my costume! (came back to add that to my posting for the day)
and doesn't foreclosure mean taken over and being sold by the bank? like in the states (because of the recession)? i thought your mom was just going to sell it..?

oh yeah! we need to think of a name for our team for trick-or-eat! any ideas?
i smell like i went to the pool... ugh... (washing dishes at Agora)
i finish midterms next thursday too, but have to work on a project on friday (i have an oral presentation and short paper due the next week). i should be good on sat/sun (depending on how much i need to do/prepare for the presentation). i've also got a couple of application deadlines...
i don't post because no one else posts (though i happen to be waiting for the bus so was surfing the web) and because i have nothing to say, really. i just feel like when i post, no one reads it, so there's no point.
for now, i've just got class and co-op and volunteering and... yeah. i made a pie on saturday. a pumpkin pie. and i woke up at 3am this "morning" to write two cover letters.
that's about all.
okay, bye!

ps- 515 to 815pm on the 31st!

Where is the world?
It's been a while since anyone's posted here, it seems. And yet I always seem to get hounded for not posting.
Well, there isn't a whole lot to update on. I didn't get called in to work last week, which is currently proving my they-don't-like-me-and-the-work-that-I-do theory. They did call me to work last last Friday, but that was of course Joanne's birthday lunch and no way was I going to change plans for that. :) I think I should get another job in the meantime. What do you guys think?
That isn't to say I'm doing absolutely nothing these days. I finished recording a song for my demo yesterday and I'm actually pretty happy about it. Two down, four more to go. I hope I can finish before the end of the year.
I'm also working on the next documentary short that's just getting started (we just finished the second one and now we're planning out the third). Things never really get exciting until near the end when we all realize "Oh! It's finally becoming something." I'm still working on a script that I hope to direct and produce/make/score which would be really fun. I have start giving myself deadlines though, or else I'll keep putting it off.
Speaking of scripts, one of my friends that I went to school with talked to a director (the one who directed her short film) and he agreed to direct one of her feature scripts!!! That's so crazy. She's going to have a feature film under her belt. Oh, and she asked if I wanted to do the music on it and of course I said yes. I'm so excited for her.
So Ann says she's done her midterms this Thursday (right Ann?) and would like to do something after, as she has been going crazy and been pulling out her multicolored hair. When's everyone done their exams and stuff? How about this Friday? Maybe Saturday?
Hope you guys are well and hopefully see you all soon!
Aaron
PS. Do any of you know someone (or maybe yourselves) who are able to take screen captures on films? I need some stills for my film because I'm entering it in a festival...
PPS. Oh right. Halloween costumes... I should probably think about that. I want to be the Mad Hatter again... the top hat is totally cool.

I want to be the Mad Hatter again... the top hat is totally cool.

ahaha@ aaron's video. Didn't know our current PM was that anal (pun intended).
Reminds me of the day when I had the misfortune of laying my eyes on Gordon Campbell in skin-tight spandex. Sorry but I'll make this post short since I have to work on an assignment. I was thinking of treating you guys to dim sum for my b-day but it seems like everyone's schedule is pretty tight. Oh and if you're planning on getting me a b-day gift, can some please please please get The Nightmare before Christmas DVD? I'll love you forever if you do~

Election fever
Yes! Voting cards! I have one now and it's weird cuz I'm so used to just seeing my mom having one. I watched most of the debate (missed the first 15 minutes) tonight and it was funny how everyone kept accusing Harper of screwing up royally on so many things, which was expected because well, he did screw up a lot of things. Maybe it was just me but Harper seemed kind of... smug the whole time. I guess it was good that he brushed off their accusations but it was kinda, "Hehe, whatever. Losers."
I also didn't know that Harper made into law this thing of a set election date and how he totally turned it around. Here's a neat little video I found that explains it very easily:
Are You Ready for Another Election?
As for the rest of the candidates, I think they realize none of them besides Stephane Dion have a chance of winning. I like Jack Layton; he seems like a cool guy and if I remember correctly, saw him walking at Pride last year. I think he's a good speaker and would run the country quite well. The only thing is, like the other parties, not enough people believe in his party to get enough votes.
I hadn't seen Elizabeth May prior to this, so I didn't know how well she would do up against four other men, but I found her to be really technical, which I thought was great. I love how she called out Harper and how some of his "achievements to environment" were "fraud". She spent a lot of time being objective about issues and it was only towards the end that she started saying, "This is what the Green Party will do." But yeah. Very technical and interesting.
I don't have much to say about Dion other than that he seems like a sensitive man, addressing each of the people in the video questions by name and looking right at the camera. He did a lot of heat from Jack Layton and how the Liberals shouldn't be accusing Harper of not keeping promises when they themselves haven't (ie. lowering taxes, more pharamacare, etc.), and their streak of non-promising really made me question the Liberals.
Anyway. That's just my commentary of how things went. I don't know if you guys care or not but I had to type it out somewhere. One of these days, I want to do more research into party platforms (apparently Harper doesn't even have one. Wtf?) as well as criticisms.
How's life with the rest of you? School making you crazy? What're you guys doing this weekend, or possibly next weekend? Shall we plan something crazy?
