in the mood

hey guys,

so valentine's day is coming up... what are your plans?

dan is coming on friday (yay!) and i was originally not planning anything, but miao (my roommate) and frank (a friend/coworker) were all like, must do things for people all the time so i caved into peer pressure and got a few things for dan/dan+me. it started out with a bath bomb shaped like a cupcake. simple enough. miao, in the meantine bought massage oil, the thing that you put normal scented oils on top of and a candle underneath so it spreads the smell of deliciousness, some swim trunks (this was random, at least from my point of view), a card, and i don't remember what else. oh, chocolate too. anyways, i was thinking well it's special for her because she does not see her boyfriend often (he goes to school in waterloo; they met in high school) so they have to make their time extra special. then i realized, i don't see dan often so i should make our time more special too!

i am by no means a romantic, but i kind of realized that i should make more of an effort. so anyhow, i decided to buy floating candles (i have always been intrigued by the concept) as we have a really big tub here. then i bought him special vegan chocolate (okay, this cost me $5 a bar! wth! it kills meeeee!) and a bottle of locally-produced white wine (i don't like wine, but then this isn't really about me buying stuff for me so yeah). theeeen i realized we don't have wine glasses. so then i bought wine glasses. jeez.

i mean, i was still my regular old cheap self, so that all cost me... under $40 including tax. but still.

this is going to sound silly, but after i bought the bath bomb, i felt like i was the nicest person in the world. hahaha, i guess because although i try to be nice to everyone, i never really give dan any extra special attention. so yeah, at this point, i feel like he's being super ultra spoiled!

anyhow, i am excited for him to come. unfortunately, i have a 1250 word paper due on friday night so i am going to try to finish it by thursday night (as dan will be coming friday afternoon)... hopefully that will work out. i still need to write it...

though, in my defence, i have done much research. plus i had a quiz last week. and discussion posts due. (<-- this part refuses to turn green, for some reason...)

but yes. i am busy/tired over here. how about you guys? how was AA aarie?

OH YEAH this is a surprise btw. so don't tell dan any of this please, if you see him!

ps- my landlord came over like, 2o mins ago and gave miao and me cupcakes (he owns a cupcake shop)! i am so happy :)
