goodbye again

oh my poor lily! :( why? how did you get it? i think my sister had/has it. i think it was pretty bad... not to scare you or anything. so now how to you get rid of it? meds? i think cheryl said she was taking medication, but i don't think it worked very well for her... i am not too sure. anyways, she seems fine, and i know nothing major happened but i am still quite concerned about you.

aaron, that's great! thank goodness you have second plans (i tend to not do that... which is not a good habit... because if something fails, i am screwed basically!).

so news on my side...

well, first of all, dan and my parents and my brothers came to visit me this weekend (i don't know if dan or i told anyone... may have slipped my mind since i was really busy after i came back from vancouver). it was nice. oh and my roommate went to visit vancouver, somewhat coincidentally, so everyone fit in our house, haha. was a bit noisier than i am used to, but it was okay.

bad news: on friday, when i woke up, i had a sore throat. i figured it would go away. at lunch, i had a bad headache (i told dan the night before, i feel like i have a brain tumour... although to be fair, i don't know what that feels like. i think.) and i tried to work through it, but by mid afternoon, i was updating some MSDSs (material safety data sheets... ie, safety info sheets) and the internet was soooo slow (probably 1-2mins to load a page) that i honestly am embarrassed to admit it, but i kept falling asleep while the pages were loading, then waking up, checking if the pages were loaded, then sleeping again, etc. SO EMBARRASSING. fortunately, my supervisor is on vacation and the other lab technician was out for some reason (in another room, i guess). still, it was pretty bad. so the thing is, i have to catch a carpool to and from work since the research station is on a highway. so i was planning on going with Miao's supervisor, who was leaving at 4:30pm. but bu the time it was like... 3pm, my head hurt so bad i was almost crying... i felt like i was hallucinating/was in a dream/like i was going crazy and every time i moved, i felt dizzy. so i was desperate, and decided to go home with another co-op student who was leaving at 3:30pm. i seriously felt bad for leaving early (i am supposed to stay until 4pm), but i talked to the lab technician (who is really nice) and i seriously felt like i was going to pass out.

anyways, so yeah. i was really sick this weekend. i felt a bit better yesterday, and a bit better today again. still sore/swollen-feeling throat and a small headache, but definitely much better. oh yeah, i also had a bad fever on friday. i felt SO cold, i was wearing my winter coat in the lab and was still really cold (i wear that coat in -10 degree weather and when i go skiing/snowboarding at night, so it is really warm!)...

so yeah, my parents/brothers/dan left around noon or so. miao is coming back tonight so it all works out.

oh yeah, so also on friday, before i felt crazy hallucinatey, i got an email from HR person at the research centre, and i got a formal job offer for the summer term. i don't know if i told you guys about my interview... but yes. it is all confirmed now so i will be staying here for the summer! which i am kind of happy about but kind of sad about too. i mean, i miss you guys and dan... but i definitely don't miss living at home. also, i miss not paying rent. but it is going to be sooo nice here in the summer! someone told me during the summer, you can float down the river on inner tubes and it's super slow and relaxing, and you can hop off to swim around, etc. seems so fun!

anyhow, i need to run to canadian tire to buy an exercise ball (NEED TO EXERCISE!!! ugh!).
