Sorry I didn't reply to your e-mail, Chels. But I did reply to that new one you sent me!
Q & A session sounds pretty official. If it's anything like the orientation we had at school, you'll be fine.
I'm sure you guys got my e-mail about this, but I wanted to say it again, just in case. The documentary project I've been involved with in the last year is having a screening of some of the films on Tuesday September 8th at 7pm. It's being held at the Pacific Cinematheque, a little theatre downtown on Seymour street, close to the Vancity Theatre (if you know where that is). Admission is free (so you know, Lily) and there will also be refreshments as well (so you know, Ann). It'll be a really cool night... we're hoping to fill up the theatre (there are about 150 seats) as much as possible, and if you guys came and brought people, that would be super special awesome. I'll get in touch with each of you in case you have somehow been disconnected with your computer and know none of this.
Yeah, let's get together sometime before school starts. We're all starting at the same day, right? The 8th? Which means there'll be one whole week left to have fun and do crazy things! Any ideas? I have more frozen yogurt at my place!
See you all soon! Have a safe trip home, Chels!

Home soon!
Hey guys,
So it's Thursday already and I'm coming home on Monday! :) I am really excited. Part of me will miss everything here in a nostalgic way, but I miss my friends more than I will miss this place.
Anyways, what's up with everyone? What's new? And Aarie, why didn't you reply to my email? That was confusing :P
So next week, I agreed to attend a Q&A session for the co-op meeting for new co-op students and I am so not sure why I said yes! I am nervous and I know it's just Q&A but I don't know... What if I don't know what to say? Anyhow, I will be doing it, I just need to think up something to say about my work terms ahead of time I guess :P
I don't really know what to say anymore... No one has posted in a long time! I'm going to make pretzels now!
Miss you,
Chels
Oh, ps- do we want to hang out when I come back and before school starts? Pick a date! Not Thursday, Saturday, or Tuesday (Aarie's thing is on Tuesday? Right?)
PPS- Lily/Jo, do you have school on Tues? I don't but I'm not sure if it's a school-wide thing or just certain faculties because my dean emailed us (I assume you have the day off too because I don't see why only some faculties would get the day off, but just checking)

Everything starts soon
Two exams done, two more to go. I think the two I did today went alright. I'm not keeping my expectations too high but realistically, I just want to pass -- my English class, that is. My other class was History and I was getting an A before the final, so I think I'm in good shape.
Anyway, hope you're not stressing out too much about that bridal shower on Sunday, Lily! I think I can hang out on Saturday, if that works for you. Do you still need/want to go to Metrotown? And I can give you your ticket too!
Everyone seems to be stressed! I'm not, but you two (Lily and Chels) seem to be. Hopefully you're less stressed now? I can understand how cleaning can be really time-consuming and stressful, and if I were there, I'd totally help you clean. I think it would be almost fun... not cleaning super gross things though. How dirty/clean/messy/organized is the house anyway? I would imagine with two girls living there it would be at least bearable... though your room in Vancouver always had clothes on the floor so hmm....
Um... nothing much new has happened here. Oh, I have a funny story to tell about my mom though! She told me how she was at Value Village the other day, looking cups and there was this person next to her, who started talking to her about how the best cups were made of bone China or something. She felt a little uneasy at this stranger talking to her so she just smiled and nodded and moved on to some plates. While she was looking, she heard a voice behind her, and it was the same person! They remarked how the best plates were made of some other material, and she agreed and smiled again. Then the person said, "Oh, I have to go now" and of course my mom thought, "Yay!" But before they left, they said, "I think you're really pretty/beautiful," in Cantonese. Then my mom got really freaked out, haha.
I was under the impression that it was a woman (I thought she had mentioned it, but apparently not), so I said, "I think someone likes you! How old was she?" to which my mom replied, "HE was probably 50-something."
"Ohhh, he! Okay. Was he good-looking?"
My mom's response:
"OF COURSE NOT!!!!"
I thought that was pretty hilarious. If I didn't know any better, I'd think my mom now hates all men. Or maybe she's just asexual. She doesn't seem to be interested in anyone romantically. I guess she's one of those people who doesn't need or want to be in a relationship.
Anyway, that's about it. I don't know if I mentioned this, but if I did, then it'll just be a reminder: I'm playing a show on September 10th (Thursday) at 8pm at Trees Organic Coffee again. It'll be fun!
For those who use imdb, I'm really really excited because I'm very slowly getting more credits added to my page, which looks really cool. I find it cool, anyway. Here's my coolness: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3249188/
Can't wait for you to come back for good, Chels!

Stupid stupid stupid report!
OMG so I hate writing reports. :| Which is what I am starting today :| Ugh. Ugh. Why?! Anyhow I am annoyed...
But yeah I am pretty stressed since I know this week is going to be really busy for me. I need to finish my report, pack most of my things for moving back to Vancouver (since Dan's parents are coming on Friday), and clean the house (because I am going to leave and more immediately, because we are having a house inspection on Tuesday for Miao's damage deposit). The house is really full right now since Dan and Peter (Miao's boyfriend) are here. Miao and Peter are leaving on Wednesday (Miao's contract ends early).
Moving is really stressing me out. The thought of doing it, at least.
Anyways, it was nice to go back to Vancouver for a weekend :) It was busy but fun, as usual. Thanks for breakfast, Lily! Sounds like you had fun on your trip! And thanks for taking care of my fan, Aaron! :)
I only have two more weeks of work left and it's kind of scary... I have that one last HUGE hurdle before I finish, which is my report :( I also only have three more weeks of Penticton and I have two last HUGE hurdles before I get to go home, which are 1. cleaning the house/getting my damage deposit back ($350!!!)/packing 2. moving back home. I guess the moving isn't that big of a deal... Mostly the packing/cleaning... :|
But yes, I am just dreading things right now. I should go back to writing my report though...
I am looking forward to seeing everyone in September! (I will be in Vancouver August 31st.)
Good luck on finals, Aarie! (And Ann?)

Po po po po po po po po Poooortland
Je suis retournee! I'm back from portland for my sister wedding party for two. Shopping was good. I got a pair of guess jeans for $14, a cute hello kitty t shirt for $14, 2 pairs of sandals for $5 each, a cute top for $25 and a hollister hooooodie for $20. ALL AT NO TAX!! An ASIAN'S DREAM!
My sister and I argued everyday when we were there but we had a good time over all I think. It was an eye opener for me. I guess I never realized how badly I treated my sister. I thought I could joke with her but she does take it personally sometimes. She was telling me how bad my personality is blah blah blah. I never paid too much attention to that because every time she would say it, she would be mad. But when I think about it, there are things I would like to work on. Hmmm.
Anyways, I went to the cheesecake factory. It's not as good as people make it sound. It was good and I think everyone should go at least once but it's not FANTASTIC.
Chels it was nice seeing. Aaron thanks for reminding me. Wow it's great that you're given lots of opportunities :)
Miss you all!
Lily
P.s. bridal shower planning it stresssssing me out.

Go go Power Rangers!
It was really nice to hang out with you + Dan yesterday at the Pride Parade, Chels. I wasn't expecting you to come back to Vancouver until September, so it was a pleasant surprise. Next year we must get closer to the street to get more stuff! I have stored your fan in my closet for your return. :)
Only two more days of classes left! Well, really it's just one more day since I don't have classes tomorrow, but on Wednesday, there's final assignments we have to hand in. And then that's it! Oh, and then final exams, but who cares about that for now.
I got an e-mail from one of the guys at YouthCO, who is also working on the Playing it Safe documentary project I'm a part of, and he said that we're supposed to make one more film by mid-August, which isn't not a whole lot of time. And considering I have exams and the Queer Film Festival coming up, I don't know if I'll finish it in time, but I'll definitely try.
What else... oh, I submitted that feature screenplay to a screenwriting competition and hopefully that goes well. I believe there's a fairly large cash prize if I win + screenplay getting optioned (bought, which may lead to production), but we'll see if that happens.
Just a reminder that my short film is going to be screening on the 17th at 7pm, and the other one on the 21st! Yay!
I sent an e-mail to Kem a few hours ago inviting him as well, but I don't know if 1) he will respond, and if he does, 2) if he will come. I haven't had any contact with him for more than a month, so it might be weird, but I'm trying to take the high road and remain friends, even if he doesn't reply.
Hope you're all surviving the heat somehow! (I have air conditioning at my place!)
