last minute?!

augh lately i've been feeling really bad because i feel like i tend to mess things up a lot.

the co-op club i'm in is hosting an event in a couple weeks, and i am in charge of advertising... unfortunately, i was slacking on that job while prepping for midterms and such, soooo i realized yesterday morning that i was super behind on contacting the people i was supposed to so we could make announcements in the workshops (co-op students have to go to) so now only one person has replied and i'm scrambling to figure out who is actually going to make the announcement! augh why??

also there's something wrong with the health insurance bc records of my schooling so my mom told me to get this form to show i will still be in school for the next two years (because i am doing a five year program) and when i checked it online (you can just print it out, normally), it was all WRONG!!! so now i'm like wtf my stupid online enrolment proof form is wrong and says i'm graduating now which i'm obviously not since i don't have enough credits, plus i'm in the co-op program arrrrrg so annoyed. now in additiong to everything i already had to do for school and the co-op club, i have to figure out who to talk to about that >:|

in terms of good news, i have purchased the material for my costume and am now able to begin.... once i get all this other stuff dealt with, that is :P

emmm that's it. see you guys later,

(good) asian actors are hard to find apparently

Yello folks,

When do you want me to pick up Joanne's present, Lily? You're busy this week with midterms, right? How about this weekend?

This Saturday, I'm going to be holding auditions for a film project that I hope to direct. I've already told Chels this, but I thought I'd let everyone else know (whoever else actually reads the blog). You (Lily) can come by and drop it off or if you're not too busy, you can sit in during some of the auditions and watch so I get more than one opinion, if you're not too busy on Saturday. The auditions are being held at Langara (100 West 49th Ave). Not sure about the room yet... I'll know tomorrow. I also believe you have my black sweatshirt jacket, right?

So far, I've gotten 2 replies for auditions... not a really good sign, but then again, the roles call for fairly specific characters so I guess that's why. Hopefully more people will sign up or else... I don't know. I'm going to post some flyers around Langara tomorrow.

Nice haircut, Chels! Good luck with all your midterms! Hope they're not too bad on you.

Oh, I just realized the 3rd birthday of our blog was earlier this month (on the 4th). Yay!

Yeah. That's about it. Ohhh! And my mom said it's fine if you guys want to come over on Halloween to watch movies and sleep over. I think there will be ample room/space for everyone (and if not, someone could always sleep on some blankets/sleeping bags on the hard floor like I did once...)

Aaron

Try again?

Hey guys,

I am currently working on my lab stuff (as usual :( sigh)...

Anyways, Lily, what are you planning for Hallowe'en? Aaron and I have half-made plans, and we were going to ask you and Ann if you wanted to join in. I am pretty sure Dan is joining us too, but I should double check. We were thinking of doing Trick-or-Eat again, and maybe trick-or-treating after (haha) and then watching scary movies into the night?

Oh yeah, so by now, I am pretty sure most of you (ie, Aaron and probably Lily and perhaps Ann/Joanne?) have your windows maximized or at least somewhat large, so that you can see the pic below. I got my hair cut yesterday. And I just took that pic a second ago with my webcam (so it's probably crappy quality). Shorter than expected but oh well haha :P The only thing is that I can't put my hair into a ponytail anymore since it's so short :| I don't know how I'm going to tie my hair up for lab..!

Sooo yep. I am so anticipating an unhappy this week :( Fortunately, I already finished the quiz I have due on Wednesday (it was online) and my prelab for Thursday. I still have to write my poopy formal report for Thursday, though :( and I have a midterm on Wednesday and one on Thursday. I have yet to study :(

Good luck on midterms, everyone :)

Good job Aaron and Chelsea.
Aaron, like what Chels said, I wouldn't make a big deal but I would point it out to her in a casual way.
I already know what i'm going to be. Jon and I are going to matching. I can't tell you guys exactly what it is though. Are you guys doing anything for Halloween? You may have written about it but as you know, I skim posts. :)
Social is a pain. It's almost over.
I have 2 midterms next week, wed and fri so I'm not going to go to your show aaron. Also, THANKS for offering to help me with the lighting and stuff. It worked out in the end. I was meaning to call you but i forgot. :(
Anyways, hope all is well. I'm going to Shanghai this winter. I'll leave on 18th and come back on the 31. My last exam is on the 17th. Aaron, I still have your gift from Joanne. You need to get it some time. I'm not sure if it has an expiration date.

Anticipation of madness

Hey Aarie, my L test was fine. I got 100% of course :P hahaha. Well I mean technically I did but that's only because you can skip questions and come back to them later, but I didn't need to since I got 40 out of 50 questions right already (you need 80% to pass)... So they just stop the exam once you answer enough questions to get 80%. Mwahaha I didn't have to answer the skippes ones in the end. But yeah I swear they designed the machines for tall people because the angle of it was so weird... It was hurting my eyes. I also had to do the weird eye test thing to confirm I am not colour blind and can use my peripheral vision and I have adequate depth perception (I passed). I had to get one of the weird licenses (you know the new ones that you can take across the border so you can't smile in your pic?) :P It should come in the mail next week.

I was practicing driving with my dad with Dan/my mom taking turns being my "extra passenger." I practiced around UBC on the weekend (it's so quiet here on the weekend) and parking and stuff. I practiced with our old Corolla and Dan kept telling me I was going too slow but I don't like going faster than 20k/h in that car because it makes funny noises when I hit the gas :(

Anyways, I am rambling...

Yeah Aarie maybe you should mention the thing to your prof... Just if you talk to her (or him?) sometime then afterwards maybe just mention, "by the way... you know that vocab word on the test? Well we actually did learn it and it was even on that last quiz..." But yeah. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it but maybe casually slip it in?

So exam schedules are out and my last exam is..... on the 21st :( Poop. It's even later than high school! I think. It seems like it is. It's a Monday. I was hoping I would be able to get two jobs this winter, like last, but that doesn't seem like it's going to work out :|

Ummmmm well, it's Wednesday, which means I'm working on my lab stuff for tomorrow :) As usual... It's not so bad this week though; I am hoping to go to bed by like... 11pm? :O It will be a first! Hahaha

What's new with everyone else?

Oh and Aarie I was thinking of working with what I learned about your costume to do a group thing? Like Dan and I (and anyone else who wants to) can have the same theme? I am already designing how I am going to make my costume (it distracts me from thinking of creepy deadly things at night!) :P hahaha. Let me know. Also I am unhappy with the price of Fright Nights :|

Lily, thanks for my clothes back! Hope school and your planning social stuff is going well!

Who wants to help me with a film?

How did your L test go, Chels? Hope you did well!

Lily: How is everything with the show at the Norman Rothstein Theatre? Still need help?

We got our midterms for Spanish class back today and long story short, most of the class who got this one question wrong, got an extra half mark because they claimed they didn't know one of the words ("marido", which means husband) even though we did. I got kinda annoyed that these two girls sitting in front of me were really pushing to get a full mark because of it and then when I thought about it after class, I realized that not only did we cover it in class, but it was even on a quiz we wrote a few weeks ago. There wasn't really an excuse. I even wrote it down in my notebook! I ranted to Bekki about this and she said I should consider pointing the quiz thing out to my teacher next class while my mom told me to let it go... but it still pisses me off so much that they were so adamant that they had never seen that word before. I guess they were just really desperate for marks.

By the way, I got that question right (and got 94% on the exam which made me happy).

I'm gonna spend a bit googling up some events that'll be happening on Halloween. Everyone got a costume in mind/ready yet?

Oh right. After I finish this documentary short, I'm planning on shooting a script that I wrote that I hopefully will finish editing and everything by the end of the year. I want to get it sent around to film festivals like I did with On the Bus (which is now on VFS's youtube channel and is getting lots of hits). I can use the camera and sound stuff from YouthCO and I'm just seeing what else I might need... I think we might be filming in my room, haha. We'll see. Anyone want to help?

I think my computer is giving me brain damage... sometimes when I sit in front of it for a while, my head starts to hurt (ie. now). Hmm...

So I'll keep this short. Just a reminder that I have a show next Thursday on the 22nd at Trees again. See you guys then! (or earlier, perhaps?)

is anyone out there?

hey

i don't know if anyone will read this before it become irrelevant but oh well...

just thought i'd like... i don't know, give some sort of warning..? i basically didn't sleep last night (kind of napped from5:30 to 7ish) because i was up doing a report thing that is due today (don't worry, i finished. well technically i still have to run to staples to photocopy some notes but still... basically).

fortunately, i'm not working with caustic chemicals today in lab. i think i'd spill them on myself or something :P i am like in a state of like barely existing :P

OMG and so yeah i am supposed to take my L test tomorrow but i haven't looked at the book yet because i was doing assignments for this week :( augh. it should be fine since i read it again this summer but i hate feeling so unprepared... reminder to self: bring id!

hope to see everyone tonight..?

Hey Lily,

I am not sure what I'm doing on Friday (though apparently Ann is going to have a belated bday get-together... She told me she was going to call you soon) and I might go to Dunbar (I keep meaning to go there... I don't actually like sleeping here in the apartment still... for some reason...) but Dan has class on Friday and has a break from 12 to... 3 or something so you could meet him at noon maybe? He could probably just call you and find out where you are. However, if Ann is in fact having a get-together, and you're going, I could just get my stuff from you then?

I think Ann said she gets off work on Friday (even though she told me she doesn't work on Fridays anymore..?) at 5:30pm. Just fyi... But yeah, if you are busy Friday night, then maybe you can just stay on campus and Dan will call you at 12?

Sunday, October 04, 2009

Hey Chels,

Will you be at your place on Friday? I think that's the best time for me. Tuesday and Thursdays I don't have class. Monday I have a break from 11 to 12. Wednesday I think I'm going for dim sum from 11 to 1. Friday I have a break from 11 to 1 also.

Let me know.

-Lily

where did the weekend go?

it's already sunday and i feel like i've done nothing all weekend :P i hate that feeling...

anyways, aarie, i'm glad you came. being with a friend always makes me feel less awkward when things go not according to plan (ie, reservations changing). it was nice to do something different.

so dan's pretty sick. he was sick last week (maybe wed?) and kind of got better on friday, but he as a fever again now so i guess he wasn't really better? i don't really know...

hey lily, if you have a spare 10 mins or something, would you mind meeting me on campus so i could get my clothes from you? i am really missing my sweatpants :( especially since in the past week it's gotten really cold. i finish class on tues and wed at 12:30, and friday i am off. monday i have a class from 11am to 12:30pm and then a half and hour break, and then a lab (i don't really know when it ends since it's self-directed... ie, we finish when my group and i decide we have done what we needed to do) which usually finishes at 3pm... but i could probable sneak away quickly to meet you, if need be. thursdays i finish late (5pm-ish?). anyhow just let me know what's best for you.

that's about it for now. i should go on researching the intracacies of microwaving insects now (for one of my labs :P).

hope to hear from everyone soon!
chels

ps- not sure what to do about hallowe'en... do we want to trick-or-eat again? or try something new? i'm really up for anything..!

Untitled

Thanks for inviting on Friday to the bowling thing, Chels. I had fun (and not just because I won both games :) ) I didn't even know I was good at bowling!

I may have posted this before, but I finally finished my demo last week. I made a few copies for the show last Monday and one chick gave me $10 for it, even though I told everyone it was for free (though if they wanted to give me money, I couldn't refuse...) Anyway, I thought that was kinda surreal -- someone paying money for my songs.

Btw, I'm playing a show back at Trees Organic Coffee (450 Granville Street downtown) on Oct. 22 (that's a thursday). You guys can sit near the back if you don't want to be around the host dude, even though he's not there on Thursdays.

Don't have much else to say... midterms this week, but oh well. My mom and grandparents are going to Portland next weekend for a few days.

Ann: any ideas for your birthday stuff? Are we saying Friday?

Also, are we doing anything special for halloween this year? Trick or Eat? Halloween singles party? Any suggestions?
